At Wudstahl inspiration is everything. Getting the right concepts and theories are essential in driving our design team while developing new designs and finishes to our furniture. We derive inspiration from nature, eminent designers and movements throughout the history of contemporary design throughout the 20th and 21st centuries that have shaped the world of design. As a center for creativity, we encourage our designers to develop new and fresh designs keeping certain core concepts in mind as well from anywhere they derive inspiration from.
The Bauhaus movement, which originated in Germany started the wave of modernism and functionality in the 20th century and shaped the world of design and art. Much of the furniture we see today has its roots in the Bauhaus movement. At Wudstahl we delve deep into much of the philosophies of Bauhaus while designing homes which includes functionality, form, geometrical harmony, minimalism and practicality of design while creating our simple yet aesthetic furniture and kitchens.
The Bavarian region of Germany has one of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in Europe. It is home to the Black Forest that has been the backdrop of several Disney movies and is also home to the pristine German Alps. We combine wood finishes and veneers from this region that include walnut, oak, pine, spruce, maple, cherry, cedar, birch and mahogany that give your homes a rustic touch of the Bavarian black forest or the German Alps.
For much of contemporary history, Italy was known for its flair in design. Even today, Italian designers dominate in the world of fashion, cars, luxury and furniture with its distinct style. We studied and incorporated much of Gio Ponti’s MODO ODIERNO or Modern Style while designing our line of furniture which uses much of Domus theory, which was the cradle of design founded by Gio Ponti. This philosophy re-imagines the world of interior design by asking two simple questions: What is Design and Who is the Designer? By doing so, the idea was to allow creativity to give furniture a new sense of style and aesthetics.
At Wudstahl, having a line of luxury Italian designer furniture was seen as a must have after much thought because of the creative and artistic flair in aesthetics and style it brings to our collections. Having these pieces of furniture in your home gives it a wow factor and enhances your living with feel good aesthetics. Our wardrobes, credenzas, sideboards, tables and kitchens incorporate elements of DOMUS Contemporary Italian design and aesthetics.
Design is not only about physical and visual comfort, but also mental comfort. While designing, we incorporate elements of Feng Shui to ensure balance and harmony in living. The concept of Feng Shui is using the elements of Fire, Water, Wood, Metal and Earth to create spaces that are balanced and bring a sense of mental well-being as well. The importance of design here is in developing furniture that blends with the space and creates a balanced sense of calm. How we achieve this depends on sunlight, color and materials that each have a specific effect on the overall feel of the room. Hence, Feng Shui interior design is an emerging trend in the world of design with prominent architects from Hong Kong and Singapore becoming highly sought after across Asia.
In the world of Wudstahl, inspiration is everything right from the initial conception to the final touches everything is thought about. Giving your home the best interiors keeping holistic well-being in mind is our passion.
